Country Banned from Hosting European Shooting Championship

Estonia lost its right to host the 2027 European Air Rifle Championship after refusing to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in the tournament.According to the Estonian Shooting Association (ESSF), the championship will now be held in Granada, Spain from March 3-9, 2027.The European Shooting Confederation (ESC) based its decision on the fact that the tournament also serves as a qualifying event for the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics and the 2027 European Games, and therefore all eligible athletes must be allowed to participate.The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) allows athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete in individual neutral status.
