Commemorating the 92nd Anniversary of Atatürk's Visit to Düzce: Ayran Flows from a 200-Year-Old Fountain

A commemoration program was held in the Selamlar village of Gümüşova district in Düzce to mark the 92nd anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's visit to the city. During the program, ayran was poured from a 200-year-old village fountain, where Atatürk had drunk ayran in 1934. The ceremony was attended by Düzce Governor Mehmet Makas and other protocol members. The ceremony began with a procession accompanied by the Düzce Municipality Mehter Team. Participants walked to the village square and drank ayran from the fountain in memory of Atatürk. The mehter team also performed during the program. In his speech, Governor Makas recalled Atatürk's visit to the village on July 18, 1934, saying, "I am delighted to commemorate that day with you again. It was a wonderful reception." The program ended with a visit to the Atatürk Museum in the village, where Governor Makas wrote his thoughts and feelings in the museum's visitor book.
