Atatürk Silhouette in Ardahan Not Visible This Year

The Atatürk silhouette in Ardahan's Damal district, which has been observed for 27 years as part of the Atatürk's Footsteps and Shadow Damal Festivities, could not be seen this year due to weather conditions. During the festival, where the Atatürk silhouette is observed, visitors went to the observation deck but could not see the silhouette due to the cloudy and rainy weather. Nurhayat Görmez, one of the visitors from Istanbul, stated that they were sad about not being able to see the silhouette, saying 'We love our Atatürk very much.' It was stated that the natural phenomenon can be seen until the end of July on days with suitable weather conditions. The Atatürk silhouette was first noticed by Adıgüzel Kırmızıgül, a shepherd in the Yukarıgündeş village, in 1954. The silhouette can be seen on cloudless days, especially from June to the end of July, between 17:50 and 18:10.
