The discovery of a tomb, believed to belong to a wrestler from Aspendos, has been unearthed.The Aspendos Ancient City has been an important center throughout history. Excavations in the city's Eastern Necropolis have led to the discovery of a 2,400-year-old box-type tomb. The tomb contained coins with wrestler depictions and other findings.Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, expressed his delight at the discovery. Minister Ersoy stated that the tomb is a significant find that sheds light on the city's history and that the person buried there may have been involved in sports.The findings in the tomb suggest that the person buried may have been a wrestler from Aspendos. This discovery will contribute to filling in the gaps in our history. The efforts of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums and the excavation team have made this significant discovery possible.
