Antarctica's Volcano Erebus Spews Forth Gold Daily

Located approximately 1,350 km from the South Pole, the active volcano Erebus spews forth microscopic pure gold crystals into the atmosphere every day. Erebus emits an average of 80 grams of gold dust into the atmosphere daily, continuing to astonish scientists. Situated on Ross Island in the Ross Sea, roughly 1,350 kilometers from the South Pole, Erebus is known as the world's southernmost active volcano. Research by scientists has revealed that the volcanic gases emanating from Erebus contain microscopic elemental gold crystals. According to the research, the volcano emits approximately 80 grams of gold dust into the atmosphere daily. These particles can be carried by winds for up to 1,000 kilometers. The most distinctive feature of Erebus is that the gold it spews forth is in crystal form. Scientists have not found another active volcano known to spew forth crystallized elemental gold in this manner. The presence of gold in volcanic gases is not entirely unusual, as gold traces have been detected in the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii and the Etna volcano in Italy.
