31 Suspects Detained in Ankara's Illegal Betting Operation

A total of 47 individuals were detained in an operation against illegal betting, which was carried out in 8 provinces centered in Ankara. 45 of the detainees were brought to the Ankara Courthouse. After the suspects' statements were taken, 44 of them were referred to the on-duty criminal court of peace with a request for arrest. One suspect was released after giving his statement to the prosecutor. Of those who appeared before the judge, 31 were arrested, and 13 were released under judicial control. Two suspects are still being held at the gendarmerie for further processing. The details of the operation are as follows: On June 26, the operation was carried out by the Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Smuggling and Organized Crime Combat Bureau, resulting in the detention of 31 suspects.
