Enhanced Security in Ankara Ahead of NATO Summit: 46 Suspects Detained

Security measures have been tightened in Ankara ahead of the 36th NATO Summit. A total of 46 suspects were detained as part of the 'Turkuaz' operations conducted by the Ankara Police Department.The operations, coordinated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, targeted suspects who had made armed posts on social media, had records of various crimes, and had been linked to armed incidents. Searches were conducted at the addresses of many suspects as part of the efforts to combat armed crimes.
Security measures have also been increased in areas where the NATO Summit will be held and at critical points. The 24-hour security circles formed by the teams in the designated areas have been expanded, and necessary checks are being carried out around cafes, entertainment centers, and public areas where people are densely populated.
As part of the "operation package" carried out by the Ankara Police Department, 46 suspects were taken into custody. The security measures, which are at their highest level, are continuing uninterrupted.
