13-Day Ban on Actions in Ankara: Security Measures Taken Before NATO Summit

The Ankara Governor's Office has banned all events, including meetings, demonstrations, press statements, and similar activities, in the city between June 28 and July 10, prior to the 36th NATO Summit, which will be held in the capital on July 7-8, 2026.
The Governor's Office announced that all events, including meetings, demonstrations, and press statements, will be prohibited in the city between 00:00 on June 28 and 23:59 on July 10.
Special measures will be taken in areas where the summit will be held, where delegations will be accommodated, and along the routes they will take, in order to ensure national security, public order, and the safety of the delegations participating in the summit.
It was also stated that all unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) flights in Ankara's airspace will be prohibited during the same period, except with the permission of the Governor's Office.
As part of the decision, all actions and events, including meetings, demonstrations, sit-ins, protests, setting up stands, pitching tents, distributing flyers, and hanging banners and posters, will be banned in open and closed areas for 13 days.
