Ankara Governorship Increases Measures Against Forest Fires

The Ankara Governorship has extended the duration of measures taken due to the increased risk of forest fires until October 15, 2026. The Governorship has banned entry to forested areas and prohibited the burning of fires in all open areas adjacent to forests. Due to adverse climate conditions and extreme temperatures, the risk of forest fires has reached its highest level, and the Governorship has announced that all activities that may cause fires are also prohibited.According to the statement, most of the fires that occurred in the province were caused by human negligence, burning of stubble, and cleaning of vineyards and gardens. Areas with a high risk of fire, as well as forest edges, will be kept under constant surveillance, and village heads will monitor and immediately report any instances of fire burning in their areas to law enforcement.
