Major Alert on Anatolian Highway: Istanbul Direction to be Closed

The Istanbul direction of the Anatolian Highway in the Kocaeli section will be closed to traffic on August 12 due to upper structure repair work. The section between the East Izmit and Dilovasi interchanges in the Istanbul direction will be closed to traffic, and traffic flow will be provided through alternative routes. According to the statement from the governor's office, upper structure repair work will be carried out on the section of the Anatolian Highway between the East Izmit and Dilovasi interchanges in the Istanbul direction. The work is scheduled to start on August 12 at 08.00 and will be carried out on a 24-hour basis. The statement also noted that those traveling to Istanbul on the Anatolian Highway can use alternative routes from the East Izmit Interchange and the North Marmara Highway East Izmit Interchange. During the work, entrances to the highway from the East Izmit Interchange in the Istanbul direction, the connection from the North Marmara Highway East Izmit Interchange to the Istanbul direction, and entrances from the Kandira, West Izmit, Gulf, and West Hereke interchanges will be closed.
