Increase in Income Tax Base and Taxation in Anatolian Provinces

In 2025, the income tax base in Anatolian provinces, excluding Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, increased by 81% to 871.9 billion liras. During the same period, income tax taxation rose by 84% to 233.2 billion liras. The share of Anatolia in Turkey's total tax revenue increased from 30.28% to 32.81%. The increase in the total tax base and tax revenue share in Anatolian provinces occurred alongside an increase in the number of taxpayers submitting income tax returns. Across Turkey, the number of taxpayers submitting annual income tax returns in 2025 increased by 8.84% compared to the previous year. This increase was parallel to the rise in income tax base and taxation in Anatolian provinces.
