US Invests $7 Billion in Alaska Air Base Expansion
The US government is investing $7 billion in a new airbase complex at Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Alaska. This complex is seen as a crucial investment for the base, which hosted the historic summit between Russian leader Putin and US President Donald Trump. Government officials have determined that the current airfield infrastructure at the base is insufficient to meet current military operational needs. The modernization program, with a budget of approximately $7 billion, aims to completely renovate the airbase area, accommodate personnel, and make the base fully operational. As part of the Alaska military base project, all logistical and technical facilities required for modern air warfare will be built from scratch. The comprehensive investment plan includes critical military structures. According to government documents, US officials plan to implement a special financial formula to shorten the program's implementation period and minimize long-term costs.
