Severe Prison Sentence Requested for AKUT Founder Nasuh Mahruki
Nasuh Mahruki, the founder of AKUT, faces a prison sentence of up to 4 years and 6 months due to a social media post on July 15th, which is being investigated by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for crimes. Mahruki was arrested on July 17th on charges of 'inciting hatred or humiliating the public' . The prosecution stated that the act was committed through the press and publications, and therefore, requested an increase in the sentence by half . The indictment against Mahruki highlighted that his social media post caused public outrage and led to the initiation of legal proceedings.
