Collapse in Adana Drinking Water Tunnel: 1 Worker Lost His Life

A collapse occurred in the tunnel excavation of the Yedigöze Drinking Water Project in Adana. During the incident, 4 out of 5 workers in the tunnel were rescued, while 1 worker lost his life.Adana Governor Mustafa Yavuz stated that the incident occurred in the 2,660-meter tunnel work of ASKİ's Yedigöze Drinking Water Project. Governor Yavuz reported that 5 workers were working in the tunnel at the time of the collapse.Governor Yavuz said, 'There were 5 workers working inside. They were spraying concrete by using a support system. While they were working on the support system, the collapse occurred. Three of the 5 workers are fine. One has a broken leg and has respiratory problems, but unfortunately, one of our workers lost his life.'After the incident, the first response was made by the gendarmerie, AFAD, fire department, and all relevant units. It was stated that legal and administrative proceedings will continue from now on.
