March for Justice: Families of Grand Kartal Hotel Fire Victims Walk to Ankara

Relatives of some of the 78 people who lost their lives in the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu on January 21, 2025, started a march from Bolu to Ankara for justice and awareness.The grieving families gathered in front of the Bolu Courthouse, carrying pictures of their loved ones who died in the fire, as well as various banners, and released balloons into the sky in memory of the 78 people who lost their lives.Before the march, lawyer Yüksel Gültekin stated that the 1st Chamber of the Council of State had granted permission to investigate some public officials and demanded that they be tried as soon as possible.Oktay Akişli also stated that the purpose of the march was justice, saying, 'We lost 78 lives. Since then, our only demand has been not revenge, not privilege, but only justice.'The families participating in the march walked towards Ankara with pictures of their loved ones who died in the fire.
