Minister of Justice Announces: 84 Judges and Prosecutors Dismissed

The Minister of Justice, Akın Gürlek, made an important announcement on social media. Minister Gürlek stated that the Second Chamber of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) made decisions regarding 525 judges and prosecutors in 2026, with 333 receiving disciplinary action. Minister Gürlek also announced that 84 judges and prosecutors were dismissed from their positions. The Minister emphasized that the majority of judges and prosecutors fulfill their duties in accordance with the law, conscience, and professional honor. Minister Gürlek noted that this title does not grant anyone privileges. The decisions made by the HSK's Second Chamber included 168 warnings, 24 reprimands, 23 salary deductions, 4 suspensions of promotion, 30 reassignments, and 84 dismissals. The Minister stated that while increasing the speed and effectiveness of the justice system, they will further strengthen the control mechanisms. Minister Gürlek expressed that the fight against crime organizations outside and those who undermine the law and professional honor within the judiciary will continue with determination.
