New Deputy Mayor Election to be Held in Adalar on June 27

The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that the Adalar District Municipal Council will hold a new election for a Deputy Mayor on June 27, Saturday, at 10:00 am.According to the statement from the Istanbul Governor's Office, Adalar Mayor Ali Ercan Akpolat was arrested as part of an investigation into 'forming an organization for the purpose of committing a crime and accepting bribery'. Following Akpolat's arrest, he was removed from his position by the Ministry of Interior.

In accordance with the provisions of Article 45 of Law No. 5393 on Municipalities, it has been deemed appropriate by our Governor's Office for the Adalar District Municipal Council to convene on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 am to elect a Deputy Mayor.
