US Aims for Cheap Oil in Iran Conflict

US Vice President Vance stated that the primary goal of the US in the conflict with Iran is to provide cheap oil for Americans. Vance added that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons is the second priority. US President J. D. Vance explained the goals of the Iran war in a local television interview. Vance said, “Our number one goal is to keep petrol and gas cheap for Americans. And then, clearly, our second goal is to ensure Iran never gets nuclear weapons.” Previously, President Donald Trump claimed that American forces controlled the Strait of Hormuz, but the strait was only closed to ships headed to Iran. Saudi Arabian media reported that Iran and Oman have agreed to resume ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
