EU Imposes New Sanctions on Russia: Medinskiy and Degtyaryov Added to List

The European Union has announced its 21st package of sanctions against Russia. Russian Deputy President Vladimir Medinskiy and Russian Sports Minister Mihail Degtyaryov have been added to the list.
The new measures, which were published in the Official Journal, include sanctions against 46 individuals and 168 entities, in addition to Medinskiy and Degtyaryov.
The list of sanctions also includes two ports and four airports in Russia, as well as 18 organizations operating in the oil sector. Three oil refineries in Russia and one in Belarus have also been subject to restrictions.
In a statement, the EU Council said, “The package includes heavy economic sanctions targeting the sectors with the greatest impact on the Russian economy, as well as the widest individual sanctions list in the last four years.”
