US Lettuce Panic: 27 States Recall Products
In the US, lettuce products have been recalled in 27 states due to the Cyclospora parasite. Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing and other products may be deemed risky in the coming days.Taylor Farms has begun withdrawing potentially contaminated shredded lettuce from the market. The company announced that the recalled lettuce originated from its production facility in Guanajuato, Mexico. However, the brands under which the products were sold or the markets and restaurants where they were used were not disclosed.The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated that the investigation is ongoing and not only shredded lettuce but also other products grown or processed in the same facility are under examination.The FDA also warned against consuming the lettuce served at Taco Bell restaurants in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.
