The Gun Violence Archive reported that 100 people were killed by gunfire in 20 mass shootings that took place throughout the US over the 4th of July weekend.

This 4th of July weekend saw one of the highest levels recorded following the record year of 2021, with 20 mass shootings taking place over the weekend.

The US President pledged to defend the right to freely circulate firearms in his Independence Day speech on Saturday.
