25 US States Sue Trump Administration Over Tariffs
Twenty-five US states have sued the Trump administration over new tariffs on imported goods from 60 trade partners. The lawsuit was filed by states including California, Arizona, and Oregon. Led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, and Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield, the lawsuit argues that the tariffs do not have a legitimate legal basis. The states are asking the court to declare the tariffs unlawful, halt their implementation, and refund the tariffs that have already been collected. Other states that have joined the lawsuit include Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin.
