US Approves Military Equipment Sales to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait

The US has approved the sale of military equipment to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
The US State Department announced that the approvals are worth $1.96 billion for Saudi Arabia and $484 million for Kuwait.
The statement noted that the materials sold to Saudi Arabia include Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS-II) and related equipment, with BAE Systems in New Hampshire as the primary contractor.
The proposed sale will support the security of a key non-NATO ally that is an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Gulf region, and will support US foreign policy and national security objectives.
The sale to Kuwait includes aircraft parts, communication equipment, software support, technical documentation, training, and logistical services for the maintenance and operation of C-17 transport aircraft.
The proposed sale will support Kuwait's ability to operate and maintain its C-17 fleet, enhancing its ability to respond to current and future threats.
