US Defense Secretary Criticizes Biden Administration Over Ukraine Aid

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth criticized the Biden administration, stating that the shipment of American munitions to Ukraine depleted US stockpiles, which were not replenished in time due to slow bureaucratic processes. Hegseth, speaking at the Senate Appropriations Committee, emphasized that this situation negatively impacted national security and was caused by bureaucratic hurdles.

The five additional funding packages approved by this committee provided for the shipment of American munitions to Ukraine and their subsequent replacement in a one-to-one ratio. However, this replenishment was attempted through slow-moving bureaucratic processes, resulting in the failure to replenish the sent weapons on time.

The Pentagon chief highlighted that the depleted stocks were not replenished on time and that global threats were ignored.
