US Warns Israel Not to Target Iranian Negotiators

The US administration is concerned that Israel may sabotage the diplomatic negotiations with Iran by assassinating high-ranking Iranian negotiators. According to the New York Times, Washington has assessed that Israel's targeting of Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammed Bakir Kalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi could completely derail the negotiation process.
The US has asked its regional allies to warn Tehran about a potential assassination plan. The Iranian negotiators, who took over the process after the deaths of former chief negotiators Ali Larijani and Kamal Kharazi in Israeli attacks, have been working towards a diplomatic resolution.
Despite recent tensions between the parties over the Strait of Hormuz, diplomatic contacts are ongoing.
