US Launches New Strikes Against Iran as Tensions Escalate

Explosions have been reported in Ahvaz, Iran. The US has launched new strikes against Iran and announced plans to reinstate a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.Several explosions were heard by civilians in Ahvaz, southern Iran. Following these developments, the US Central Command issued a statement.

At 15:00 ET today, US Central Command forces began an additional strike against Iran to continue to degrade Iranian capabilities used to attack commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also issued a statement, saying that Iranian armed forces had carried out missile and drone attacks on US military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, destroying several MQ-9 Reaper drones as well as arms and spare part depots.According to Iranian state TV IRIB, the IRGC stated that the operation was in response to US strikes against various Iranian military facilities.

During the operation, using missiles and drones, various arms and spare part depots belonging to enemy ships and aircraft were destroyed at the Sheikh Isa airbase in Bahrain.
