US Imposes Sanctions on Crypto Platforms Linked to Iran

The US has imposed sanctions on two crypto platforms allegedly used by Iran to conduct financial transactions worth billions of dollars and evade sanctions.The US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has added Aban Tether, operating in Iran, and Shelbit Exchange, based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as well as numerous companies and individuals linked to these entities, to its sanctions list.The entities are accused of facilitating crypto transactions that benefit Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iranian-linked individuals, and of being used to circumvent sanctions. The assets of these individuals and entities that are in the US or controlled by US persons will be blocked.
