US Air Force Major Arrested at Congress for Calling for Trump and Vance's Removal
A US Air Force major was arrested at the Congress building steps after giving a speech calling for the removal of President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Major Jason Watson, in his speech, accused the Trump administration of violating the Constitution and conducting military attacks without Congressional approval. Watson claimed that some of these attacks, such as those in Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran, were carried out without the necessary authorization.Watson spoke during a press conference attended by Democratic Representative Al Green. According to Congressional rules, protesters are required to be accompanied by a Congressional member when speaking on the steps. After Green left, police asked Watson to leave the steps, but he continued speaking and was arrested on charges of "obstructing the crowd and disrupting public order".Watson also criticized the Trump administration for violating freedom of speech and constitutional rights, citing the loss of civilian lives in some immigration operations. According to US media, Major Watson, who is currently on active duty, may face military disciplinary action or prosecution under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
