US to Intensify Crackdown on 'Birth Tourism'
The US Department of Justice has announced that it will intensify its crackdown on 'birth tourism' despite the Supreme Court's ruling upholding birthright citizenship. The Department of Justice stated that it will increase its surveillance and investigations into birth tourism following the Supreme Court's decision. US Attorney General Todd Blanche told reporters that 'it is our duty as the Department of Justice to ensure that our agents focus on stopping this practice, and we will do so.'

From the Department of Justice's perspective, this situation is focusing the attention of our prosecutors and law enforcement partners on birth tourism, which is a rapidly growing industry, and yesterday's Supreme Court decision will only continue this growth

Blanche expressed his belief that individuals who travel to the US to give birth for the purpose of obtaining citizenship are violating existing laws and that there needs to be a broad consensus on this matter. Meanwhile, the US Supreme Court's ruling blocked President Donald Trump's effort to end automatic citizenship for children born in the US.Trump described the ruling as a victory for China, and he called on Congress to take steps to invalidate the decision.
