US Establishes Multinational Drone Task Force

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has established the 'Falcon Strike Task Force', a multinational drone task force aimed at strengthening security in the Middle East. The task force will comprise systems of unmanned aerial vehicles capable of being launched from the sea, sea surface, and submarines. The systems within the task force will be operated by US and regional partner military personnel. According to the announcement, the personnel structure of Falcon Strike will be led by personnel from the US Special Operations Command (SOCCENT) based in Florida. The new formation is expected to draw on the experiences of teams that previously worked on the Scorpion Strike project. CENTCOM has initiated formal consultation with its regional allies and has extended invitations for countries to participate. The announcement states that with the participation of regional partners, the task force is planned to be transformed into a unified and multinational deterrent system covering 21 countries within CENTCOM's area of responsibility.
