US Department of Justice Refuses to Release Additional Epstein Documents

The US Department of Justice has refused to release additional documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, citing the need to protect the privacy of the victims. The Department has requested an extension of the deadline for submitting the documents or a waiver of the obligation to do so. US Deputy Attorney General Stanley Woodward stated in his application to the court that the documents contain sensitive information about the victims and that significant portions have been redacted in accordance with legal requirements. Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Manhattan Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York on August 10, 2019, while facing charges of sexually abusing and trafficking numerous underage girls. Documents released to the public as part of the case revealed that a number of high-profile individuals, including former Prince Andrew, US President Donald Trump, former US President Bill Clinton, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, former US Vice President Al Gore, actor Kevin Spacey, singer Michael Jackson, illusionist David Copperfield, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, were mentioned. However, an investigation conducted by the FBI and the US Department of Justice found no evidence that Epstein had a "customer list" of famous individuals, and concluded that his death was a suicide rather than a homicide.
