EU Prepares New Sanctions Package Against Russia: 1600 Companies Targeted

The European Union is considering imposing restrictions on over 1600 companies accused of supporting Russia in the Ukraine war. The EU aims to expand its sanctions against Russia. If the package is approved, the number of companies on the sanctions list will increase by 50% in a single step. According to sources, the total annual revenue of the companies to be added to the list exceeds $20 billion, and the number of employees exceeds 265,000. Moscow has previously described EU sanctions as “unlawful and ineffective” on several occasions. Russian officials claim that the imposed restrictions primarily harm the European economy.
