Five People Detained Over Death of 4-Year-Old Child

An investigation is ongoing into the death of a 4-year-old child in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey, after the child's mother and stepfather claimed the child had fallen from a height.As a result of the investigation, five people, including the mother and stepfather, have been detained. According to hospital reports, the child's body showed signs of bruising and fractures, and it was determined that the death was not caused by a fall.On January 24, 4-year-old Y.E.Y. was taken to the hospital by his mother, Z.K., and stepfather, M.K., after they claimed the child had fallen. Despite initial treatment, the child was transferred to Kütahya City Hospital, where he unfortunately could not be saved.Gendarmerie teams investigated the scene where the child allegedly fell. After the investigation, the Afyonkarahisar Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team launched a detailed investigation into the suspicious death.Following the contradictory statements from family members, the mother, Z.K., her second husband, B.K., her father-in-law, M.K., her mother-in-law, A.K., and her brother-in-law, S.K., were all detained.
