2026-YKS Results Announced: Champions Revealed

The President of the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy, announced that the results of the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Exam (2026-YKS) have been made available on the website 'https://ykssonuc.osym.gov.tr/'.In his written statement regarding the 2026-YKS results, Ersoy said, 'We have announced the YKS results of approximately 2.5 million candidates, congratulations. You can learn the exam results through our corporate website 'https://ykssonuc.osym.gov.tr/'. With the announcement of the exam results, our preference process will begin. 2026-YKS preference transactions will be carried out between July 29 and August 10.'Ersoy advised the candidates to consider their areas of interest and abilities during the preference process, to research the fields they will choose well, and to read the information about the departments in the guide to be published carefully. The first place winners of the Basic Qualification Test (TYT) are; İlker Uyanıker Yıldız Technical University Maçka Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School-Istanbul, Abdullah Uslu Eskişehir Fatih Science High School-Eskişehir, Miraç Koşar, Şanlıurfa Science High School-Şanlıurfa Doğa Erdemir, Kadıköy Anatolian High School-Istanbul, Şerif Efe Dartar, Kabataş Male High School-Istanbul.

The first place winners of the Field Qualification Tests (AYT) are; Şerif Efe Dartar Kabataş Male High School-Istanbul in the numerical field, Enes Salahaddin Coşkun Kartal Anatolian Imam Hatip High School-Istanbul in the verbal field, and Tuğsem Bahar Kabataş Male High School-Istanbul in the equal weight field.

The first place winners of the Foreign Language Test (YDT) are; Eylül Uyar Kabataş Male High School-Istanbul in German, Ammar Moataz Mohamed Ibrahım Mahmoud Kartal Anatolian Imam Hatip High School-Istanbul in Arabic, Sena İlhan Open Education High School-Denizli in French, Doğa Erdemir Kadıköy Anatolian High School-Istanbul in English, and Ela Demirel Ahmet Keleşoğlu Science High School-Istanbul in Russian.

Ersoy stated that 2,255,076 of the 2,425,627 candidates who applied for the TYT attended the exam, while 170,551 did not. He also reported that 1,473,113 of the 1,627,970 candidates who applied for the AYT attended the exam, and 60,370 candidates did not attend this session.Ersoy announced that 91.48% of the male candidates and 94.21% of the female candidates who applied for the TYT attended the exam. He also stated that 88.09% of the male candidates and 92.33% of the female candidates who applied for the AYT attended the exam. In the YDT, 63.81% of the male candidates and 74.99% of the female candidates attended the session.Ersoy reported that a total of 680 questions were asked in the three sessions of the 2026-YKS. He provided information on the averages of the YKS tests and stated

The average number of correct answers for high school seniors in the 2026-TYT; Turkish (40 questions) test is 20.5, social sciences (20 questions) test is 10.2, basic mathematics (40 questions) test is 6.8, and science (20 questions) test is 4.3. The average of the AYT mathematics (40 questions) test is 7.0. The averages of the AYT science test; physics (14 questions) sub-test is 2.7, chemistry (13 questions) sub-test is 2.2, and biology (13 questions) sub-test is 3.0. The averages of the AYT Turkish Language and Literature-Social Sciences-1 test; Turkish language and literature (24 questions) sub-test is 6.1, history-1 (10 questions) sub-test is 2.6, geography-1 (6 questions) sub-test is 1.7. The averages of the AYT social sciences-2 test; history-2 (11 questions) sub-test is 1.7, geography-2 (11 questions) sub-test is 2.1, philosophy group (12 questions) sub-test is 1.6, (DKAB) religion and ethics knowledge/additional philosophy group (6 questions) sub-test is 1.9. The averages of the YDT are; German test is 43.0, Arabic test is 44.3, French test is 46.1, English test is 37.1, and Russian test is 56.9.

.Ersoy noted that the average number of correct answers for female candidates was higher than that of male candidates in the Turkish and social sciences tests of the TYT. However, in the basic mathematics and science tests, the average number of correct answers for male candidates was higher than that of female candidates.In the 11 sub-tests of the AYT, the average of male candidates was higher in 8 sub-tests, while the average of female candidates was higher in 3 sub-tests. In the YDT, the average of female candidates was higher in Arabic and Russian, while the average of male candidates was higher in German, French, and English.
