12th Nuclear Power Plants Summit to be Held in Istanbul

The 12th Nuclear Power Plants Summit (NPPES), which will shape Turkey's nuclear energy vision, will start in Istanbul on June 30. The two-day summit will discuss Akkuyu NGS, Sinop Nuclear Power Plant, small modular reactors (SMR), and new nuclear investments. The event will be attended by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Bayraktar.The 12th Nuclear Power Plants Summit (NPPES), organized by the Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO) and the Nuclear Industry Association (NSD), with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, will be held at the Istanbul Technical University Süleyman Demirel Culture Center on June 30-July 1, 2026.The summit, which will be held under the theme "New Nuclear Age: Strengthening Industry, Innovation and Net Zero Targets", will be an important platform where Turkey's nuclear energy policies and regional cooperation will be discussed. During the two-day summit, the latest developments at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, the second nuclear power plant planned in Sinop, and Turkey's new nuclear energy projects will be evaluated.The program will also discuss small modular reactors (SMR), new generation reactor technologies, nuclear energy investments, and the contribution of nuclear energy to global net zero emission targets in the COP31 process. The summit will be attended by public officials, energy companies, and nuclear technology manufacturers from many countries, including Canada, China, South Korea, Italy, Bulgaria, and Romania.At the fair, the development of business partnerships for potential nuclear projects in Turkey, the Balkans, the Middle East, and North Africa will be targeted, and local industrialists will meet with international technology providers.
