51 Kilograms of Gold Stolen in 10 Minutes: Two Suspects Arrested

An investigation into a gold heist in Istanbul's Fatih district has concluded. It was determined that 51 kilograms and 482 grams of gold, worth 170 million lira, were stolen from a gold depot in Mimar Hayrettin Mahallesi on July 14.
Istanbul Police Department teams reviewed security footage and conducted fieldwork, finding that two suspects entered the bazaar with a suitcase and stole the gold within approximately 10 minutes before fleeing the scene.
The suspects were identified as N.İ. and E.İ. During a raid on their addresses in Kağıthane on the day of the incident, all 51 kilograms and 482 grams of stolen gold were recovered.
The gold was secured while the suspects, N.İ. and E.İ., were taken to court after processing at the police station and subsequently arrested and sent to prison.
