Minister of Justice Gürlek Comments on AHBAP Association Investigation

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek made significant statements regarding the AHBAP association investigation. Minister Gürlek said, 'Our citizens can be at ease. No donation made in good faith will be wasted or used for personal gain.' The Minister of Justice spoke at the judicial evaluation meeting and emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in non-governmental organizations. 'For non-governmental organizations, transparency is not a preference or a favor, but a legal and moral obligation' he stated. Minister Gürlek also underlined that no institution is exempt from state supervision and that judicial processes are conducted independently. 'The Turkish judiciary acts based on concrete evidence and laws, not on artificially created social media agendas' he said. The court of peace decided to arrest 14 suspects, including Haluk Levent, and imposed judicial control measures on 11 suspects. Those arrested include Haluk Levent, Ece Güner, İlker Çetin, Nurdan Eriş, Yusuf Can Ertit, Kemal Ötünç, Şehmuz Baştuğ, Abdülcevat Özkan, Emrah Gödeliner, Erhan Dökmeci, Halil Bostancı, Mehmet Ulu, Yeliz Kaya, and Zafer Yay.
